Alexis Pierce is a big believer in your body’s ability to heal. Her gentle classes will help you release tension and reduce stress so that you feel calm, focused, and happy – inside and out. With over 800 hours of training, she views yoga as a “user’s manual for the body” and helps you learn to move with ease, awareness, and confidence.
But since yoga is more than just the poses, Alexis also teaches meditation and breathing techniques, so that you get the full benefits of this ancient and varied practice. She regularly teaches anatomy and breathing in local yoga teacher training programs, and recently led a series of mindfulness workshops on behalf of the Cayuga County Health Department.
Alexis has taught at the Finger Lakes Yoga Festival and presents on yoga’s mental health benefits at the New York Mental Health Counselors Association conference in Albany. She offers workshops on yoga for mental health and emotional healing, as well as for the care and safety of your spine, shoulders, and hips.
Join her in class 8:00 am Wednesdays for meditation, followed by 9:15 am Gentle Flow Yoga. Or 9:15 am Sundays for Yin & Yang – an energizing practice followed by deep relaxation.
