Sandy Pine

Before becoming a Fitness Instructor, Sandy was a Special Education teacher for almost 14 years. While teaching, she also coached Girls’ Modified Volleyball for a number of years.  Sandy has always had a love of sports and fitness, playing several sports in high school and playing softball and volleyball on various city teams throughout the years. She has volunteered as a coach with Girls on the Run for 7 years.

Sandy began taking classes at Gazella when it was first opened by the previous owner, Reem Jishi.  After being a participant in classes, Sandy became a Certified Spinning Instructor in January 2012 and started teaching Spin at Gazella shortly thereafter. Sandy has also coached outdoor cycling for the last three years. In 2014, she became certified to teach TRX and in 2016 became certified by ACSM in Group Fitness Instruction.

When Reem decided it was time for the next chapter in her life and approached Sandy with the opportunity to take on Gazella, Sandy didn’t hesitate.  After being a part of the community that Gazella has become, Sandy wanted to continue to provide the classes and training that has made it such an amazing place to get fit.  Already having an awesome group of instructors, contributed to her decision.  Sandy believes that it is never too late to begin a fitness program and that there is a class for everyone.  Sandy wants all of her clients to make fitness a routine in their lives and believes that Gazella provides the atmosphere that makes that possible.

Sandy will continue to teach classes at Gazella.  She leads a Run & Strength class and teaches Spin, TRX and various Group Exercise classes.  She hopes to build on what has made Gazella what it is today and add to its success with new programs and classes.

Sandy participated in her first Bike/Run Iron Girl in 2016, placing 1st in the bike portion and 3rd overall in the race.  She participates in 5k local runs throughout the year.

Sandy lives with her husband Jeff and her cat Piper.  She loves being with her family, traveling and attending concerts.
